Old Translations of Quran Helpful in Writing Literary Texts

According to IBNA correspondent, the unveiling ceremony of the exquisite version of the Holy Quran with four old translations was held on December 15, at Imam Ali (AS) Religious Arts Museum
The ceremony was attended by the Head of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature Gholam Ali Haddad Adel (PhD), Deputy Chairman and Secretary of the Council for the Development of Quranic Culture Hojat ol-Eslam Hamid Mohammadi, Chairman of Etela’at Newspaper and Publications Hojat ol-Eslam Mahmoud Doa’ee, Director of Nashr-e No Publications in Tehran Mohammad Reza Ja`fari, and a group of media activists and persons interested in culture.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mohammad Reza Ja`fari congratulated the birth dates of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Imam Ja’far Sadeq (AS) and said: "Quran is the divine gift available to man to prosper his material and spiritual life and to lead him to eternal joy. Translation of the Quran has always been considered by those in search of meaning and the friends of literature, and various works in this field have been made available to the scholars and those interested in the Quranic literature.”
"Many good translators will present new works in this field, but paying attention to the works of the predecessors and the Classic Persian literature is of utmost importance,” he added.
Speaking about the process of printing this exquisite Quran, Director of Nashr-e No Publications said: "In the year 2007, I suggested to Mohammad Sharifi to initiate the extraction and collection of four old translations of authentic interpretations of the Quran, since being in contact with these translations makes it possible for the scholars to somehow compare the linguistic and literary characteristics of each translation with the others and notice the effect of different translators’ style of writing in a single text.”
