Pakistan to hold cultural week in Iran in near future: Pak adviser

In an interview with IRNA, Irfan Siddiqui said that he has already formed a committee for initial preparations for the cultural week.

He said that Iran is a friendly country of Pakistan not because it is an Islamic country, but neighboring country also.

'We have history of common heritage, common literature, common culture and common civilization,' noted Pakistani official.

The adviser said Pakistan has already a cultural agreement with Iran which has been extended recently for another three years.

'The last agreement was signed in 2014 and Iran approached us to extend the pact for another three years,” Irfan Siddiqui said.

He said that during his meeting with Iranian Cultural Counsellor Shahabuddin Daraei two weeks back, both sides have decided to explore the possibility of having a big cultural exhibition in Tehran or any other Iranian city in the near future.

'We can have exchange of books and we have bureau of translation here which can translate Persian books into Urdu and Urdu books into Persian,' he noted.

He said that they may have have teachers and intellectuals exchange visits, so we are discussing so many things and I think the coming year will see that the friendly relations between Iran and Pakistan will show new experiences and new ventures which we are going to undertake.
