Laslo Blaskovic made the remarks in a meeting with Iran's Cultural Attaché in Serbia Mahmoud Shalooei on Wednesday.
'We respect Iran's rich culture which has a long history and that's why National Library of Serbia is always open to introducing Iran's culture,' he said.
Speaking on the agreement signed between the National Library of Serbia and Iran's National Library in 2008, Blaskovic added that the deal is not time-bound, but requires annexations to expand bilateral ties.
Shalooei said that cooperation among national libraries of both countries as well as other public organizations can pave the way for further scientific and cultural benefits.
He also thanked the National Library of Serbia for holding Iran's cultural programs, namely 'Cultural and Artistic Night' on celebrating the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, known as 'Ten-day Dawn' and the ceremony to launch Persian language courses last year.
Dispatching technical and executive delegations, setting up specialized workgroups as well as exchanging written works and research programs will boost relations, he noted.
