Persian manuscripts in Iraqi national museum

In a meeting, held in Baghdad, with head of documentation center and archives of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Ali Bodaghi, the Iraqi official underlined the need for development of bilateral cultural purposes and artistic exchanges between the two friendly neighboring countries.
Bodaghi said that his visit to Iraq, in companion with a history professor from Tehran University, had a cultural and research purpose and that a memorandum of understanding would be signed after assessing and identifying cultural commonalities between the two countries.
He stressed that Iran is interested in scrutinizing the Persian documents and manuscripts held in the museum.
Bodaghi noted that Iran will provide the same condition for the Iraqi authorities to visit and study Iraqi old documents in Iran.
Many Iraqi students study in Iran, he said, adding that they can study the manuscripts and documents with the aim to extract important historical commonalities between Iran and Iraq.
Meanwhile, Al-Rashid said that Iraq fully welcomes cultural cooperation with Iran now and in future.
In addition to manuscripts, he underlined, Iraq also preserves Persian hand-written books as well as other artifacts belonging to the past and present, in the national museum.
