At a ceremony marking the 34th Islamic Republic of Iran National Award for the Book of the Year, Dr Rouhani praised the winners of the Book of the Year Award and said: "We should promote thinking and say the truth to make our society immune".

"Islamic revolution was the victory of rationality, science, pen, and people's firm commitment to Imam Khomeini," said the President.
He added: "Islam brought republicanism and national sovereignty and the result of bolstering republicanism is promoting Islamic culture".
Stating that writers are the origin of thinking, he added: "Books are the reflector of the artists and writers' thinking".
He continued: "The miracles of the Prophet of Islam are the book, Quran, reading and reciting that prevailed over ignorance and the idols".
Dr Rouhani also went on to say: "The works of Hafiz, Saadi and Mowlana are the symbol of the Iranians' lasting writings for the world".
New words and theories give the society enthusiasm and energy, said Rouhani, adding: "Politics means safeguarding security and national interests".
"The meaning of Islam has not been, and is not, rejecting other ideas and religions," the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran continued, saying: "Islam is the most complete religion for guiding people".
He added: "Religion will confront any policy that threatens religious and national identity".
