President at a ceremony for renewing allegiance to late Imam:

Through its serious resolve to follow the path of late Imam and adhering to his rightful successor, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, today the government wants to prove that late Imam Khomeini’s (RA) path can lead a community and even the whole Islamic world to victory,” said President Rouhani at a ceremony for renewing allegiance to late Imam on Tuesday.

He said: “Today we are happy to announce in the presence of Imam Khomeini’s soul that our economy is on the right path despite all hardships and hurdles that oil-exporting countries are facing”.

Dr Rouhani also referred to under 9% inflation, 4.4% economic growth, 8.8% industrial growth and $3.3 billion increase in non-oil exports and said: “This means that we are on the path of lofty goals of the Resistive Economy”.

“Today we are standing in a position that we can sell enriched nuclear materials and heavy water and buy yellow cake for the first time in our history,” added Rouhani.

On government’s goals to implement policies of Resistive Economy, growth and economic prosperity, as well as creating jobs, he said: “I hope that with government’s prudence we can generate hope in people in all scientific, cultural, economic and political fields”.

“Those who kill people’s hopes are not doing them favour, but rather are giving hope to the enemies of this political system and land,” Rouhani continued.

He went on to appreciate the great family of Imam Khomeini who support the revolution and the government, and said: “With people’s support and the Supreme Leader’s guidance, the government is trying to take bigger steps to the lofty goals of the system and make people’s wishes true in the coming year”.

“Government’s Week is an opportunity for the government and its members to explain their efforts and services in the past three years for the respected and noble people of Iran,” the President continued.

During the visit, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini said that the government is facing with a lot of unjust pressures and added: “The government has proved by its resolve and determination, led by the President, that pays the costs of standing on its ideas and will continued along this path with all its power, as it has done so, so far.
