The Islamic Revolution, the Islamic Republic and the Guardianship of Islamic Jurists are three great memorials to Imam Khomeini (RA) and the Iranian nation are determined and united in defending them, said President Rouhani at the ceremony marking Imam Khomeini’s passing anniversary.
Addressing people at Imam Khomeini’s tomb on Thursday, Dr Rouhani said: “We are proud of the Islamic Revolution and Iranian nation being revolutionary and we will spare no effort in defending the evolutionary path of this revolution”.
“With Imam’s planning, the Assembly of Experts could elect Ayatollah Khamenei as the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on a very short notice and make people happy in those hard days,” continued the President.
Stressing that with Ayatollah Khamenei’s guidance, all branches are united, he said: “The enemies of the Islamic Revolution will take this wish to their graves to see there is a gap between the branches and the Supreme Leader”.
Our dear and honourable Imam rose against the oppressors like what Prophet Abraham did, said Rouhani.
“The late Imam was sure of the rightfulness of his path and did not have any fears of any person or power and continued along his path with courage and bravery,” added Rouhani.
He continued: “Dear Imam reigned over people’s hearts and, as the soul of one nation and Ummah, could lead a great revolution to its destination”.
Underscoring that “it is everybody’s duty to present the reality of this country and revolution” he said: “Today, we should not let Zionists and the oppressors shape the public opinion in the world and introduce a tainted image of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic”.
“The message of the Revolution is freedom, independence and believing in religion,” said President Rouhani.
He said that the great Iranian nation demonstrated a great defensive power in the 8-year Sacred Defence era with the help of Army of the Guardians, the Army, Basij and the Police under Imam Khomeini’s supervision.
In years 1393 and 1394 (the last two years), the Iranian nation demonstrated its political power to the entire world with the Supreme Leader’s guidance, he said, adding: “We could push away the ominous shadow of war from the Iranian nation, establish the fights of the nation in international communities and lift the unjust sanctions”.
He also stressed that despite instabilities and insecurities in the region and the Islamic World, Iran has exemplary peace and stability and added: “This is the result of faith, resistance, unity, integrity and the Guardian of the Islamic Jurist’s effective role in maintaining and strengthening national unity and integrity”.
