President: Iran needs no permission from anybody for its scientific progress

In a ceremony to mark Space Technology Day in Tehran on Tuesday, the president said research centers, industry, and satellite sector are insistent in this regard.
Reciting a verse from the Holy Quran, the president said the holy book has advised us to explore the space.
It should be reminded that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not need any permission from anybody for scientific progress, said the president, he added.
'It should not strike anybody that since we are getting closer to the world and are negotiating, then we want to abandon scientific progress. Not at all, we move ahead vigorously in all scientific fields. We just try to strip them of excuses that our enemies sometimes use to slow our progress,' said President Rouhani.
Referring to considerable feats attained in space technology, President Rouhani said Iran is among the countries which have obtained the space technology circle.
He added big steps have been taken in space technology, and the launching of Fajr satellite was carried out successfully.
The president said his government attaches much importance to space research and applied programs in aerospace.
