President Rouhani sent a message of congratulations to Iranian athletes to felicitate their excellence in Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games and congratulated the great Iranian nation, the athletes, managers and coaches for their hard work.
President Hassan Rouhani’s message is as follows:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I congratulate the powerful excellence of our country’s dear athletes with winning the most medals and the best team results in Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games to the great Iranian nation, the hard-working athletes, managers and coaches, and appreciate all their efforts; especially because, despite some subjectivity in the finals, our athletes’ presence and excellence in these games was accompanied with manners and ethics.
Winning the most medals in the history of Asian Games and 20 gold medals in these games with acquiring the best team results in volleyball, basketball, kabaddi, and water polo and excellent performance in all fields, particularly wrestling, wushu, karate, taekwondo, cycling, weightlifting, rock climbing and table tennis, happened because the sport officials of the country sent the teams to these games with a quality approach.
I would also like to acknowledge Iranian female athletes’ proud presence in these games, who observed Islamic and national values and won the most medals to break the record of the previous games, hoisting the Iranian flag to portray the confidence and power of our country’s women in different fields of competition.
I hope that with strong will and determination of the powerful and brave Iranian young people, we continue to witness further successes in all international fields to bring the great Iranian nation happiness. God willing.
