President Rouhani described saving an addict as a move to revive humanity and a national and revolutionary move, saying: "Attempting in this path is in fact a religious, moral, national and revolutionary move in helping the people, especially the young generation".
In this meeting that was held on Monday, Dr Hassan Rouhani also stressed the need to introduce the consequences of using drugs to the youth and adolescents at schools, saying: "The Ministry of Education and our teachers and professors have a very important responsibility in this regard".
He also mentioned the use of modern plans and ways of fighting drugs and money laundering, saying: "We must use other countries' successful experiences in fighting drugs".
The President went on to stress the need for better, more serious protection in borders and more cooperation and consultation with neighbouring countries in combatting drug smuggling to the country.
The Drug Control Headquarters also discussed other issues such as implementing the Supreme Leader's orders in controlling drugs.
