President off to Turkmenistan/ Top priority of Iran's foreign policy is expansion of relations with regional countries

The president's visit to Ashgabat is being made upon an official invitation by his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
Dr.Rouhani will be accorded official welcome at the presidential palace Wednesday morning and then the two presidents will hold bilateral talks.
During his stay in Turkmenistan, the president is scheduled to sign documents for cooperation, deliver speech for a joint gathering of Iranian and Turkmen merchants and plant a sapling as a sign of friendship between the two nations. said that several documents and memoranda of understanding (MOUs) will be signed during this visit.
Speaking to reporters president said: 'We are in an appropriate status regarding technical and engineering services and have capable technicians in petrochemical, power station, dam construction, road and bridge construction fields with high expertise,' he said.
Dr.Rouhani said that Iran imports gas from Turkmenistan and also exchanges electrical power with that country, but in this visit the objective is further diversifying the two countries' trade transactions in addition to the expansion of political, scientific and cultural relations.
Presidential Chief of Staff Mohammad Nahavandian, Ministers of foreign affairs, roads and urban development, justice and culture, Hossein Fereidoun, a special advisor to president, as well as head of the Department of Environment Masoumeh Ebtekar and President of the Central Bank of Iran Valiollah Seif are accompanying the president during his visit to Turkmenistan.
