Qom Hosting Shia Studies Course for Foreign Researchers

A number of scholars and researchers from countries like Canada, the US, Turkey, Britain, Iraq and Spain are taking part in the scholarly program.

It will run for one week and conclude on Sunday and will include specialized forums and visits to academic and seminary centers.

History of Shia Islam, emergence of Shia denominations, Shiism and present-day Iran, Shia ideological sources, Mahdism doctrine, Imamate, Shia ethics, and Shia political thought are some of the issues discussed in the week-long course.

It is the fifth edition of such a course held on Shia Islam.

The University of Religions and Denominations is a teaching and research center focusing on the study of religions and Islamic sects.
