Quran competition planned in Madrid

The Imam Ali (AS) Islamic School in Madrid will cooperate with the Iranian center in holding the Quranic event, which will feature memorization of the Quran, the center’s website reported.

It is held in the holy month of Ramadan with the aim of strengthening the participants’ connection with the Book of God.

The categories of the contest include memorization of the 30th Juz (section) of the Quran and memorization of half of the last Juz.

There is no age limit for taking part in the competition, which will be held in both oral and written formats.

Those willing to attend the event can refer to the Iranian cultural center or the Imam Ali (AS) Islamic School for registration.

The holy month of Ramadan, the month of fasting and prayers, began on Thursday, June 18, this year.

During Ramadan, Muslims all over the world fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.

They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran
