Quran Memorization Competition Held in France

It was held in cooperation with the Holy Quran Memorization International Organization under the supervision of Alsace Muslims Association.

75 girls and boys of the region competed in memorization of the entire Quran, and memorization of 15, 5, 3 and 2 Juzes (parts) and one Juz of Quran.

The judging board of the competition comprised four Quran experts.

Top participants were awarded in a ceremony attended by Mustafa Al-Qudat, director of the Educational Office of French Rescue and Relief Organization, Sheikh Rabi’ Al-Misri, German preacher, Muhammad Al-Harbi, representative of the World Association of Mosques in Riyadh, representative of the Quranic organization and some of the scholars, imams of mosques and Quran experts of the country.

The importance of holding such Quranic competitions in encouraging the youth to memorize the Divine verses was stressed in the ceremony.

Some Quran memorizers from among the children of the region also recited verses from the Holy Quran in the ceremony and were awarded.

France is home to one of the largest Muslim populations in Europe. It is estimated that some 6 million Muslims live in the country.
