A recall of the recommendations of Imam Khomeini and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution
The government of martyr Rajai was the first honest government who put up its best efforts during the critical period to serve the sacred goals of the revolution.
The reason for naming the government week is that in such date president Rajai and his men were martyred with the blast of the Islamic Republic's Party building by hypocrites; since then, in order to familiarize people with the activities and to express the goals and plans of the government of the time, Iran honors the week in which the incident took place as the week of government.
This incident, as the enemies of Islam believed that it would lead to the isolation of the people from the regime and the collapse of the regime, rather made the people more active, and the system became more consolidated.
On the occasion of the Government Week the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini, as well as part of the recommendations of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei, to the government men and the need to have the support of the people for the government is highlighted:
* Governmental principles and ability indicators
In the political thought of Imam Khomeini, the principles and indicators of the efficiency of the state can be divided into several sections, and one of the most important parts of the moral efficiency that is stated in this regard is; the conquest of a state is not great, but conquest of the heart of people is important.
Imam believes that at the beginning of spread of Islam, the secret of the rule of the Islamic state over large empires has been the ruling of the people's hearts. In this regard, the rule of Islam was to rule the hearts, and thus Islam overcame the populations of the great empires.
According to the Imam's view, the popular, national, service, Islamic and just governments are those governments that govern the hearts of the people.
Refinement of Statesmen
In the Islamic government, the ruler and statesmen must refine themselves morally. Imam Khomeini emphasizes in this regard: "Refinement for statesmen, for sultans, for presidents, for governments and for leaders is more essential than for ordinary people. If ordinary people do not have refinement and become rebellious, it will be limited to themselves, but if the ruler becomes rebellious, then it may destroy the country.”
* Management Achievements
* The government will not succeed without the selection of dedicated and specialized people in different fields, and the statesmen will rely on their colleagues and their commitment to better serve them in the country and in the interests of the nation in order to be loved by God and the nation. Choose good friends while serving the nation. A good friend for those involved is that they are effective in advancing the affairs and serving the nation, not in the service of close people. Statesmen must work with dedicated scholars to get the secrets of success.
* The need for people to support the government
People's Participation: The key to the success and efficiency of the government is to have full participation and support of all segments of the population. The government alone will never be able to do all its duties, I ask you (people) to help the government, and not just wait for the government to do everything, the government can not do all the work, you have to support the government.
Recommendations of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution
* Popularity and Humbleness
One of the most basic things to prevent us from lavishing is that the authorities of the country, their people, their close relatives and their affiliates, turn away from lavish and aristocratic life. If we are extravagant, how can we tell people not to be lavish and extravagant. We must choose popular and humble authorities for the country, those who have simple life and who know the pain of the people.
* Cooperation with legislative and judicial systems
Cooperation with the other two systems is also one of the important recommendations. Interacting and cooperation with the parliament and the judiciary system is an indispensable task for government people; something that should never be ignored. Of course there may be bitterness and problems in this way; but it must be endured.
* Paying Attention to Criticism
Pay attention to criticism; criticism is different from destruction. Unfortunately, some people talk spiteful, and they call it criticism. Where it is really criticism, and benevolent, pay attention to them and listen to them carefully, and make sure that they have not made a mistake. These are the things we have already said, and we are now emphasizing. Some are paid attention to, and you should pay more attention to others.
* Discourse of Advancement and Justice
Relying on justice is the most fundamental and pivotal principle of a divine movement; the continued work of all the prophets and great reformers of history. Of course justice has enemies. All those who take advantage of justice, are the enemy of justice. All those who are bullying or supporting bullies against the Islamic Republic - whether on the national scene or on the international scene - are opposed to justice. Justice is the main slogan and the great purpose of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic system.
Some as extremism want to condemn justice. Justice is not extremism, it is of right; it is paying attention to the rights of all people. The task of the justice-centered government is to give special attention to the disadvantaged people. Justice should not be radical and opposed to scientific methods. Justice can be deployed in the community using wise and disciplined methods.
