Rome Museum Displays Iran in Photos by Italian Tourists

A total of 80 photos by 70 Italian tourists have been selected from among 1500 submissions for the exhibition, which opened on Friday.
The works were collected following a call from the Iranian cultural attaché’s office in Rome in summer.
The photos were selected by a jury composed of prominent photographers and experts including Riccardo Zipoli, who also teaches Persian language and literature at the University of Venice.
Felicetta Ferraro, director of the small publishing house in Rome named Ponte33 (after Isfahan’s Si-o-Se Pol Bridge) and former Italian cultural attaché in Tehran, as well as Iranian photographer Bijan Basiri were also among the members of the jury.
Italian tourists Gaetano Di Filippo and Julia Novelli were presented with awards at the opening ceremony for the works sent to the exhibition.
A collection of 100 photos of Iran taken by Italian archaeologists over the past 60 years and 10 photos by Zipoli are also featured on the sidelines of the exhibition, which runs until January 3, 2016.
