Roshd International Film Festival with 820 Iranian and 224 Foreign Films

Secretary added: Educational centers have changed into Learning centers in the world today and thus we should create a structure where students are eager to learn and teachers have a guiding role.

He reminded that 46th Roshd Festival and 15th Students, Teacher-Students Film Festival will simultaneously begin on Nov 5th and over 80 theatres are allocated to show the films. Last year, Roshd Festival was held in 26 provinces with 3,850,000 audiences and selecting these provinces is based on the applicant's qualifications and provinces recommended by the Supreme Leader and Ministry of Education.

This year, there were 1044 films applying for the festival, of which, 820 films from Iran and 224 foreign films were selected.

Films are competing in following categories: 233 documentaries 66 of them selected for competition, 27 long feature films out of them 10 were selected for competition, 288 short films and 34 were selected for competition, 149 animations of which 51 were selected for competition, 156 films by students 40 were selected for competition, 45 films by Student-lecturers out of them 12 were selected for competition and 96 from educational staff of which 40 were selected for competition. A total of 1027 entries and 239 selected for competitions.

Badieei also said that foreign films are from 30 countries like: Spain, USA, Belgium, France, Japan, Poland, South Africa, Germany, South Korea, Switzerland, England, Australia and ...

46th Roshd Festival's secretary then introduced the festival's jury as follow: Rasool Sadr Ameli, Kambozia Partovi and Ulf Lundin from Sweden for long fiction films, Madjid Shaikh Ansar, Golestan and Lisa Keane from Germany for short fiction films, Mahmoud Amani Tehrani, Pirooz Kalantary and Paul Aurelien Combre from France for documentary and Sayyed Amir Hashemi, Mahin Javaherian and Isabelle Faces from Switzerland for animation.

Badieei stressed that we are trying to protect all films considering student's levels and Ministry's concerns for Children and Young Adults and we have not refused one single film in this field.
