He made the remarks in a message to Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on the occasion of the Japan’s National Day.
The President expressed hopes for further expansion of mutual relation.
In his message, President Rouhani expressed congratulations to the Japanese government and nation on their National Day.
Pointing to long history of Iran-Japan relations, he said the two countries enjoyed high potential for boosting ties in political, economic and cultural arenas.
The President also hoped for more interaction and exchange of views and called for constructive dialogue between the Iranian and Japanese officials.
President Rouhani wished health and prosperity for Japan’s Prime Minister and nation as well.
December 23 marks the national day in Japan marking “The Emperor's Birthday” and is a national holiday.
The reigning Emperor Akihito was born on 23rd December, 1933. On this day a public ceremony takes place at the Imperial Palace, where the gates are opened to public.
