Attending a primary school in Eastern Tehran, President Rouhani announced the official opening of schools in new Iranian school year.
In a symbolic move, the president rang the bell; an act that has traditionally been done by Iranian Presidents on September 23 which coincides with the first day of Iranian calendar month of Mehr.
During the speech delivered by Rouhani, he posed the question for the student competition dubbed Question of Mehr: What are the post-sanctions opportunities for us in fields of science, technology, lifestyle, foreign relations with neighbors, economy and employment, and how can we sieze the opportunities to tackle national problems of environment, water, and unemployment.
Iranian Presidents have the custom of attending the first day of school year with a question for Iranian students across the nation. The best answer to the question is rewarded by Iran’s Ministry of Education, after collecting replies in the first month of the school year.
