The 30-strong delegation made up of scholars, Muftis and representatives of religious organizations, arrived in Tehran last week.
The visit is aimed at enhancing religious and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
The delegation has made the trip on an invitation by the Iranian embassy in Moscow.
Given that Russia’s 30-million Muslim population and the shared views of Tehran and Moscow over issues like extremism and terrorism, it is important for the two countries to strengthen cooperation in various fields such as religious and cultural arenas.
