The Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution convened late on Tuesday and the President, who was chairing the meeting, stressed that teaching foreign languages should be done with more precision and seriousness.
During the meeting, Dr Rouhani congratulated Prophet Muhammad’s first revelation and said: “The great prophet of Islam’s first revelation is the most important historical event, not only for Muslims, but also for the whole humanity.
He also commemorated Ayatollah Morteza Motahhari’s martyrdom and Teacher’s Day and said: “We are greatly indebted to martyr Motahari and despite all the efforts, scientific advancements and facilitated access to science, this great teacher’s personality is still unique”.
President Rouhani also stressed the need to teach foreign languages with more precision and seriousness and tasked the Ministry of Education with reviewing how foreign languages are being taught at schools both quantitatively and qualitatively.
