Scientific conference on “Persian Language Teaching in India”

In a scientific meeting on the subject of Persian language teaching in India, Dr. Shirin Masoumi stated that Persian language and literature in India have a long history that came to India eight centuries earlier. In India, at the early fourth century AH, a poet was born, who composed beautiful poetry at that time in Persian language. Persian language was the second official language of India before it became British colony, however then English replaced Persian language by force. It is noteworthy to mention that Iqbal Lahouri is also a Persian poet from India. According to Dr. Masoumi, some people believe that Persian language is about a thousand year old in India.
