Seminar on Quran Inscription in Egypt

The Center for Arabic Manuscripts affiliated to the Arab League Educational, Culture and Sciences Organization (ALECSO) organizes the event in Cairo, al-Yawm al-Sabi daily reported.

According to Faisal al-Khafyan, the center’s director, prominent Iraqi calligrapher Muthana al-Abidi will address the seminar.

He will also answer questions in Arabic calligraphy and history of Quran inscription.

Two exhibitions featuring Quran inscriptions and manuscripts of ALECSO will be held on the sidelines of the seminar.

Al-Abidi is a known calligrapher in the Arab world and has won many international calligraphy awards.

He has also mounted various exhibitions of his calligraphy works in different countries.
