The event is considered as the best opportunity to introduce the great thoughts of the well-known Iranian philosopher Molla Sadra to Muslims, especially the young generation of the Islamic world.
Shiraz–OIC Youth Capital 2017 is an important international program serving development and unity of youth of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) geography.
Being the capital city of Iran's Fars province, Shairz was picked up as the next Youth Capital of Muslim countries during the final session of the 3rd ministerial meeting of the OIC in Istanbul, Turkey, Oct 6, 2016.
Secretary of the Shiraz-OIC YC Heydar Ali Kamyab Kalantari said that the gathering is the third event of the road map of activities which will be held under the Shiraz-OIC Youth Capital 2017 International Program, the Shiraz-OIC Youth Capital News Website reported on Tuesday.
He expressed that the gathering will be held in 2 panels under the titles of 'Rethinking the Muslim World: Challenges and opportunities Ahead' and 'The Meaning of Molla Sadra's Message for Our Time'
Domestic and international thinkers, intellectuals, scholars and academics would express their views during the panels, Kalantari added.
The official, also Director General of Sports and Youth of Fars Province, continued that holding the event is important because “this is the first time that Shiraz is the host of such gathering bout one of the prominent and religious professors of this city; therefore, we should hold the event as valuable as the name of this well-known philosopher is.”
He added that necessary grounds have been prepared in collaboration with Shiraz University for holding the event in order to maintain the dignity of Sadr ad-Din Muhammad Shirazi, known as Molla Sadra, all over the world.
Kalantari said that the new generation has the right to become familiar with Molla Sadra's valuable thoughts and ideas and this is the main goal of holding this event.
Secretary of Shiraz-OIC YC expressed his gratitude for the support and collaboration of the Ministry of Sports and Youth of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Amb. Elshad Iskandarov, the president of ICYF-DC, Governorship of Fars Province and Shiraz University for organizing the events of 'Shiraz-OIC Youth Capital 2017' International Program.
