In their meeting with Dr Mahmud Amani Tehrani, Director General of the Bureau of Compiling Primary and Theoretical Secondary Textbooks, he described the compilation, validation, content review and modification, revalidation, arranging layout, printing and distributing processes for textbooks. He added, "our organization has excellent potential, great facilities and long experience in creating school textbooks even in printing textbooks for other countries and we are ready to share our experiences with Somalian brothers.
Pointing out the Education Fundamental Transformation Charter and the National Curriculum that have been developed and approved based on the Islamic philosophy of education he said, "to achieve the goals of these instruments, textbooks for two grades are created each year. Last year we finished the job for grades four and eight and we are busy preparing textbooks for grades five and nine this year."
In their meeting with Mrs Nikravesh, Director General of the Bureau of Supervision on Educational Materials Publication and Distribution, he explained the steps for edition, layout arrangement and preparation of textbooks for printing. He added, "every year, the OERP publishes and distributes 1150 titles of textbooks with a circulation of 125 million volumes before the academic year."
The visitors had a tour round the organization afterwards.
