According to the Public Relations of the Ministry of Education, Fakhreddin Danesh Ashtiani offered his greetings to teachers’ representatives for Teacher’s Week in their meeting with Speaker of the Parliament and glorified memories of martyrs Motahari, Rajayi and Bahonar. He also said: Education’s new perspective is focused on obtaining skills and merits, along education. According to this new approach, educational contents, teaching and evaluation methods must be changed, so one would be qualified to be employed right after graduating from high school.
Referring to the Leader’s speech for teachers, he added: Educational contents must be revised and changed to practical and interesting contents. These contents should be in accordance with local conditions and requirements so; students could be employed in their home provinces, after graduation.
Next to the contents, another important subject is “Teaching Methods”. Teaching methods must be up to dated, because old methods do not meet today’s needs and cannot teach necessary skills to students, continued the Minister. Third topic to be reformed is “Evaluation Patterns”. According to the contents and teaching methods, evaluation patterns must be changed so, teachers may observe and evaluate their students more closely and consult them more knowingly about the major they want to study.
Member of cabinet continued: New perspective is clearly declared in “Reform Statement”; to realize this statement, we all should try and lay appropriate foundations. Main objective is execution of “Fundamental Reform Statement” and any other manifest contradicting it is not acceptable.
He called teachers’ role in execution of this statement; “crucial” and insisted: To execute “Reform Statement” precisely, we need efficient teachers and it requires investment on human resources.
Importance of “Farhangian University” is above other universities
Importance of “Farhangian University” is above and beyond other universities, since graduates of this university train other people, said Ashtiani.
Mentioning Leader’s emphasizing on the role of Farhangian University, he added: Facilities, equipment and environment of Farhangian University must be up-to-date to train qualified and capable teachers, because new teaching methods requires up-to-date teachers.
Appreciating parliament’s passing “6th Development Plan” and Ministry of Education’s budget for 1396 (2017-2018), Dr. Ashtiani remarked: Parliament can help elevating position of teachers Farhangian University in society.
Codification of “Teachers’ System” is one of our plans which we hope to accomplish with the support of Government and Parliament. If accomplished, teachers can perform their duties and do researches without any worries. Financial management and finding fresh financial resources are 2 new strategies of the ministry, added he.
