Tehran, Baku Seek More Educational Ties

Iran’s Minister of Education Ali Asghar Fani met and talked with Mikayil Jabbarov, the Minister of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic, on the sidelines of the eighth General Conference of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Pointing to the fact that the President of Iran attaches special significance to development of relations with neighboring countries, Ali Asghar Fani invited Mikayil Jabbarov to make a visit to Iran.
Jabbarov, for his part, referred to the longstanding ties between the two countries and expressed his country’s willingness to strengthen bilateral relations.
He further underlined the existing ties between the two sides in the field of education and recalled the presence of the head of Tehran University last year at the ninety-fifth anniversary of the Baku State University and signing of a cooperation agreement between the two universities.
Jabbarov suggested investigation of venues for improving cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan in the field of education and appreciated his Iranian counterpart for inviting him to visit Iran.
