Tehran Book Fair, window to foreign relations: Russian author

Sergei Kalashnikov told IRNA that Tehran Book Fair is among important communications channels that help people acquainted with different global cultures.

The 29th Tehran International Book Fair displayed domestic and foreign books for 11 days starting May 4. The opening ceremony of the fair was held on May 3.

Russian people do not know a lot about the Iranian nation and culture, said Kalashnikov adding Tehran Book Fair can help make links between world nations including Iranians and Russians. He further lauded the Iranian people's hospitality.

He said he attended Tehran exhibition to display his father's book in which famous Iranian poets including Hafez and Saadi have been introduced in Russian language.

He further said his father adores Iranian culture and literature.

The Russian authors and publishers too are eager to cooperate with their Iranian counterparts, he added.
