Tehran-Brasilia to boost ties

Pointing to excellent political relations between Iran and Brazil, Brazilian Ambassador to Tehran Santiago Irazabal Mourao in meeting Mohammad Taqi Hosseini, stressed the need to develop relations between the two countries in other fields.

Referring to the successful implementation of some projects aimed at poverty alleviation, he also considered the exchange of experiences between senior officials of the two countries as beneficial expressing hope that the visit will improve bilateral relations in the social affairs.

Iran's deputy minister also noted the importance of political, economic and geographical relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Brazil and said that, “cooperation in social matters can advance the goals of the two countries in other areas as well.”

“Islamic Republic of Iran and Brazil enjoy a good reputation due to their special attention to reducing poverty and increasing social welfare and also the implementation of some well-known social programs in developing countries; therefore, exchange of experience and enhancement of cooperation between the two countries can improve relations,” added the official.

Pointing to a conference about ‘Child Labor’ in Brazil, Hosseini stated that, “Iran attended the conference and made constructive suggestions which were welcomed.”

This official emphasized the importance of the meeting of Iranian and Brazilian Labor Ministers on the sidelines of the Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, adding, “regular consultations between senior officials of the two countries are necessary.”

Hosseini reminded that Brazilian Minister of Labor and Employment Manoel Diaz is to visit Iran soon and during the visit the two sides will sign an agreement on cooperation in the field of social affairs.
