Deputy Minister of Education Morteza Raeisi said on Saturday that the second conference of Safe School Leaders will be held at Parsian Azadi Hotel on 4-5 October 2015 in Tehran hosted by Ministry of Education of Iran and Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES) with cooperation of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR).
He added that on the first day of the international conference representatives of 23 committed countries and 9 international organizations in affiliation with the UN will make field visits of two safe school sites and the next day will welcome ministerial discussions, feedback and lessons learned from leaders countries.
“For increasing safety, three important factors will be considered: safe learning dacilities (disaster-resilient infrastructure); school disaster management; and risk reduction and resilience education,” he said, according to MNA.
Raeisi added that the results of the conference will be compiled as an international document. The first meeting was convened by government of Turkey last year.
