Tehran, Madrid discuss teaching Farsi, Spanish in Iran, Spain

During the meeting, Hashemi referred to the teaching of the Spanish language in the provinces of Tehran, Fars and Isfahan and called for feasibility study on teaching the Farsi language in Spain by the Institute.

Hashemi further announced readiness for preparation of educational packages for presenting, promoting and teaching the Farsi language virtually and noted that Spanish universities can cooperate in this field.

Stressing that efforts are being made to introduce Persian literature to other countries, the official said plans are being made to prepare proper packages through which the treasure of the Persian literature will be presented to the world people by using translated texts.

Meanwhile, the Spanish ambassador pointed to cultural commonalities between the two countries and grounds for the expansion of communications and said introducing Iran to the Spanish people as well as Spain to the Iranian people enjoys specific importance.

Iran Language Institute, in addition to teaching Spanish language, is the only official language institute in Iran which has received the permission for organizing DELE exams from the prestigious Cervantes Institute of Spain.
