According to the OERP Public and International Relations, Deputy Minister of Education and Head of the OERP, Dr Mohyeddin Mohammadian said in an interview that every effort has been made to develop textbooks that address current social, religious, cultural and economic issues so that students are prepared to live successful lives in the complex modern world. The role of other factors should not be neglected, however.
He emphasized on the role of family and said that families could blunt certain points introduced in textbooks particularly when they conflict with their improper beliefs or life styles. He also mentioned the importance of mass media and role models. He added all these factors can influence the effectiveness of textbooks.
