Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization will begin identifying the country’s top handicraft workshops in the near future to set up a database. "Quality and quantity of the products will play key roles in the selection,” said Fereydoun Mirzalou, the director of Handicrafts Support and Training at ICHHTO.
Mirzalou, whose office is tasked with the identification of Iran’s top handicraft workshops, emphasized the importance of identifying active workshops to the growth in the industry.
"By identifying top workshops, artisans will strive to produce high quality products in large numbers continuously,” he said, adding that the selected workshops will receive government support to improve further.
