Training refugees key to reinforcing global peace, stability

Sivanka Dhanapala made the remarks in the inauguration ceremony of a school for foreign nationals in Shiraz.

“In addition to promoting life quality, extending knowledge and teaching skills can create awareness and also prevent wrong preconceptions and mindsets resulting in conflicts,” Dhanapala said.

The construction of the foreign nationals school started with the help of Fars Aliens & Foreign Immigrants' Affairs Headquarters and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Office in Iran six months ago.

“110,000 registered foreign nationals are living in Fars province and 30,000 of refugees’ children are studying in the province.
