Turkish people have many commonalities with Iranians, Hakki Alma said Tuesday in a meeting with Maku governor, West Azarbaijan Province.
Developing cultural cooperation is useful for boosting the ties between eastern Turkey and northwestern Iran, he said.
Alma also suggested holding joint scientific and cultural seminars in Iranian and Turkish universities.
Meanwhile, chancellors of the Islamic Azad University of Maku and Payam Noor University of Maku said their are ready to have scientific and cultural cooperation with Iğdır University.
Igdir University is a university located in Igdir Province, Turkey. It was established in 2008.
