In a meeting with the head of German Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation Hermann Parzinger, the visiting official added that military solution will solve regional problems because extremists are always being nurtured.

Underlining a joint project to eliminate extremism, Salehi Amiri pointed out, 'We seek to present a rational and affectionate image of Islam to the world, and Europe also negates extremism in the region.'

Noting that Iran has a positive impression of Germany, Salehi-Amiri voiced readiness for a joint project with Germany to reject violence and extremism in the region.

He also described the virus of Daesh a common issue between Iran and Germany, saying that safeguarding cultural heritage against the virus is a public duty.

Parzinger referred to wave of attacks by the terrorist group Daesh saying that the raids are aimed at destroying Islamic culture, libraries and mosques

Contending that culture can play a crucial role, he said, 'We should prove that the idea of Islamophobia is incorrect and present a true image of Islamic culture and civilization.'

The Oriental Studies Section of the Berlin Library has accommodated a large collection of Islamic works, he said adding that besides political unity, a cultural unity can be achieved.

Salehi-Amiri is currently in Germany at the invitation of head of Munich State Library and head of German National Library.
