The World Crafts Council selected Iran as the host for its 2016 board meeting. In the last annual meeting of the WCC-Asia Pacific Region, held at Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Iran was asked to host the 2016 session, travel news website Donyay-e-Safar reported.
“Hosting the next meeting provides us with a great opportunity to promote and develop our handicraft industry,” Mirzalou said, adding that a comprehensive and detailed plan must be drawn up to help Iran live up to its reputation as a gracious host.
According to FT Daily, in September, Tabriz and Isfahan were declared “World Crafts City” by the WCC, making them the only Iranian cities to boast the title.
