TEHRAN, May 12 (MNA) – Head of Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM) said nuclear energy has been established in Iran many years ago, however the sensitiveness of West has led to international fame of Iran’s nuclear knowledge.

Mohammad Javad Larijani, attending the inauguration ceremony of Ghashmar National Observatory Research Center, criticized the corruption of Western scientific arena by political behaviors and referred to deportation of some Iranian students from Western universities on the pretext that their studying field could result in future threats.

Highlighting some 'illogical behaviors' of some Western politicians, Larijani reminded that nuclear energy was not considered a new phenomenon in Iran and it is Western sensitivity that has led to its distinction.

“These biased behaviors have influenced the exchange of knowledge between Iranian and Western scientists and scholars, and regarding the prevention of publishing of Iranian academic works in some countries, Iran is trying to bring the case to international legal authorities,” he noted, “the West is afraid of Iran’s scientific progress, yet Iran is establishing and launching different observatories, which needs a great knowledge basis and background.”

Pointing to the establishment of two observatories of Kamou and Chogan in Ghamsar County, the official called the development 'unique and unprecedented' internationally.

He also announced the establishment of a scientific accelerator in Qazvin as a national project involving 5000 scientists and experts.
