yazd hosts OIC science, technology, innovation policies workshop

The training course held on November 22-26 was co-sponsored by COMSTECH, Yazd University and Islamic Development Bank, Jeddah, the COMSTECH announced on its website.

The major topics of the course were; (i) STI policy and processes, (ii) Economic development and IP protection, (iii) Commercialization of university research, (iv) R&D policies for developing countries, (v) Planning, partnerships and policy performance, (vi) Use of foresight for innovation policy, and (v) Measuring innovation and growth, using social network analysis.

Thirty two participants from eleven OIC member states attended the training course.

The participating countries were Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Mali, Morocco, Pakistan and Sudan. On the last day of the training course, participants presented their country reports.
