Young scholars boost hope for better future (2009/10/28)

Ayatollah Khamenei described the visit as "sweet as ever" and said, the educated youth who had combined knowledge with devotion to their country have boosted high hopes for a better future.
The Leader of Islamic Revolution pointed out that the youth attitude towards different issues was becoming more sophisticated every year and that it was a sign of advancement.
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to issues raised by some of the youths in the meeting prior to his speech including necessity of putting high priority on domestic needs, and fostering religious spirituality and culture and said the were issues of utmost importance that must be thoroughly considered by the officials.
"It is a reality that as a result of experiencing various difficulties imposed by political, security, and media powers of the world in the past 30 years as well as recent political incidents, the Islamic Administration has become immune," The IRI Leader stated.
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the enemy's conspiracies against Iran as an undeniable reality, adding that some individuals might not be aware of the reality but that would not refute the whole thing.
Ayatollah Khamenei said by making fuss about trifles, the situation would be made worse.
Referring to incidents after the June elections, the IR Leader said free thinking is the result of logical discussions and free tribunes at universities and that one shouldn't be taken away by what the enemy incites.
The IR Leader termed fairness in criticism as a necessity and said, "If the IRIB had artfully reflected the realty of the country's achievements, the younger generation would have had more hopes far beyond present, yet we should be fair while criticizing."
Ayatollah Khamenei called mixing main and peripheral issues as one of the factors that caused some press to act unjustly, adding: "Of course, peripheral issues are not of low importance but in the post-election events, the election itself and the magnificent and record-breaking participation of people was the main issue and other issues were peripheral but some people acted unjustly in another way."
"The very next day of the election, some people without any reason called the great elections a lie; is it a trivial crime?" he asked.
"The enemy also made the utmost use of this iniquity; moreover, inside the country, some people who were not in agreement with the Islamic system from the beginning seized the moment after they saw that some of the elements of the system proper were directing the stage and then those incidents took place," he added.
The IRI Leader pointed to his messages to some major elements of the post-election incidents hours after the election and said: "In the very first hours, I sent personal messages to them that you are beginning some issues, but others are misusing them and you can not control the adventure. This is while those who enter the arena of politics should calculate and predict the next moves and changes of the arena like a chess player."
Referring to his remarks in the Friday prayers after the elections, Ayatollah Khamenei said: "Firstly, private message and necessary advice were given but when it gets inevitable, one would announce some issues publicly."
Ayatollah Khamenei also regarded the efforts to pit a group of people against the system and the country, while this group had entered the field of elections sincerely and without any bad will as a great wrongdoing.
In another part of his speech, the IR Leader called the country's current achievements as the outcome of previous programs and current efforts, adding: "Political insight and the deepening of religious concepts and principles among the youth show that the present young generation can not be stopped and this pure reality guarantees the continuation of the country's progress."
Ayatollah Khamenei called science and research as key to progress and power of every country, adding: "The aliens knowing the reality have set academic and student circles as their target of conspiracy, in a bid to impair the process of scientific activities. Dear and clever youth should not let this enemy's shot hit their intended target."
Ayatollah Khamenei said it was necessary to get independence in the country's scientific, artistic and political moves and activities, adding that the young scholars must thank God for their God-given talents.
He also called on officials to thank God for the blessing, adding that they should appropriately utilize the talents in line with the country's progress.
