The 2015 ASAIHL started work two days ago with the motto of 'Towards 2020: International and Regional Collaboration in Research, Curriculum and Student Experience'.
An official at the Islamic Azad University of Isfahan told IRNA that the 2015 ASAIHL brought 20 research agreements between Iran's Azad Universities and world universities of Germany, Indonesia, Turkey and Vietnam.
Payam Najafi said most of the foreign participants appreciated the Iranian province for successfully holding such an international conference.
The foreign participants were determined to develop relations with the Iranian universities after attending the Isfahan conference, he said.
The ASAIHL was founded in 1956 as a non-governmental organization in Bangkok.
Heads of eight state universities in Southeast Asia strived for its foundation in 1956.
Iran's Islamic Azad University is an active member in the ASAIHL.
The ASAIHL is among the largest associations in the Southeast Asia having 196 member institutions from 22 world countries.
The Association is aimed to help the member universities strengthen to achieve international goals in teaching, research and public service.
