Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman said the Quranic weeks will include exhibitions on Quranic arts such as calligraphy, illumination, etc.
He said Turkey, Tunisia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Spain, Khazakstan, Austria and Thailand will host the Quranic weeks during the holy month (June 18- July 17).
They will be organized in cooperation with religious councils in the said countries, he noted.
According to Ebrahimi Torkaman, sending Quran activists to other countries during Ramadan is also on ICRO’s agenda.
He said groups of Quran reciters, memorizers and Tawasheeh (religious songs) will be send to 14 countries in coordination with the Supreme Quran Council.
They will be dispatched to France, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Pakistan, India, Kyrgyzstan, China, Iraq, Georgia, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Croatia, Zambia and Thailand, the official stated.
The ICRO chief further referred to the upcoming Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition and said his organization will play an active part in holding the international section of the expo.
He said ICRO will invite Quran researchers and artists to present their works at the international Quranic event.
The 23rd edition of Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition is slated to be held in Iran’s capital city from June 18 to July 17.
The international expo is annually mounted by the ministry of culture and Islamic guidance during the holy month of Ramadan.
It showcases the latest developments and achievements in various Quranic fields.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ebrahimi Torkaman said ICRO is keen on developing Quranic activities and is thus planning to establish an international Quran foundation.
