Iran, North Korea keen on broadening cultural ties

She welcomed the North Korean ambassador to the national library of Iran and hoped that the visit would pave the way for broadening cultural relations between Iran and North Korea.

With eight years of fruitful experience, INLA is considered a second home for intellectuals and thinkers, she said, adding, "The center provides suitable conditions for scientists and intellectuals to exchange views on scientific and cultural fields."

The Iranian library is ready to interact with North Korea, she said, adding, "The two countries have great potentials and capabilities to broaden cooperation in the cultural area in particular."

Gang Sam Hyun expressed satisfaction with his visit to the library for the second time and added, "Ties between the national libraries of Iran and North Korea are of paramount importance and should be taken into serious consideration."

The ambassador noted, "We hope the national library of Iran will provide a chamber for North Korea to make Korean books available to Iranian researchers and book enthusiasts."

North Korea seeks further cultural interactions with Iran and the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two sides will be considered as the first step toward developing cultural ties, the ambassador concluded.
