Tehran to host 5th ELT Conference

The Executive Director of the Conference, Esmaeel Ali Salimi told IRNA that organized under the auspices of the Department of English Language and Literature, the 5th ELT Conference will focus on `Language Teaching Methodology', `Teacher Education', `Teaching Skills/Sub-Skills', `Second Language Research', `Literature and Language Teaching,' `Interlanguage Pragmatics,' `Cross-Cultural Issues in ELT,' `Intercultural Competence and ELT,' `Discourse Analysis and Language Teaching,' `Language Testing and Assessment,' `ELT Materials Development and Evaluation,' `Syllabus Design and Curriculum Development,' `Teaching English to Young Learners,' `English as an International Language,' `English as a Lingua Franca,' `CALL/MALL/CALT,' `Ethics in ELT,' `ESP/EAP,' and `Future Directions in ELT.'
The upcoming conference, carrying the main theme of 'Bridging Theory and Practice,' will provide the ELT scholars with an opportunity of sharing experience in the fields of ELT, linguistics and literature, said Salimi.
He said three workshops will be held on the day before the conference on April 30, 2019.
He added that the previous ELT Conference at ATU revolved around the theme of Advances in ELT and Applied Linguistics.
