Iranian books on display at Muscat fair

Iran and its publishers are taking part in the 25th Muscat International Book Fair (MIBF) which opened at Oman Convention and Exhibition Center on Saturday.

MIBF was inaugurated by Shahab bin Tariq al-Saeed, advisor to the sultan of Oman, Abdul Aziz al-Rawas, sultan of Oman cultural advisor, and Abdul Moneem bin Mansour al-Hassani, Oman’s minister of information. 

The event was attended by Iranian Ambassador to Muscat Mohammadreza Nouri Shahroudi, Deputy Head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Mohammad-Hossein Hashemi, and Iranian Cultural Attaché to Muscat Ali Mousavi-Zadeh.

During the ceremony, three Omani personalities Amna Rabie, Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Hinai, and Wafa bint Salim Al Shamsi who contributed to enrichment of the cultural arena were honored.

The 25th edition of MIBF is witnessing the participation of 946 publication houses from 32 countries, including 676 publication houses directly participating in the event, and 270 publication houses through their agents, an increase of 64 participants and 184 pavilions compared to the last edition of MIBF.
