100,000 foreign students study in Tehran Province

Addressing the 15th session of the provincial education council, Seyyed Shahabeddin Chavoshi referred to the recommendations of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei calling for facilitating education of foreign nationals in Iran and said that about 26 percent of overall foreign national students in the country study in Tehran Province.
Chavoshi noted that apart from the foreign students studying in the capital city, some 100,000 students out of 850,000 students in provincial cities of Tehran are foreign nationals.
According to Chavoshi, 25 percent of the provincial financial allocations this year has been earmarked for education. He hoped that the same amount would be allocated for education next year.
