Revision of Technical and Vocational Textbooks in Response to AI-Driven Changes in the Labor Market

The Head of Iran's Educational Research and Planning Organization announced that, to keep pace with labor market and technological developments, 15 new textbooks have been authored and 55 existing textbooks in the Technical and Vocational branch for 10th grade have comprehensively been revision. These updated materials have been distributed in technical schools this year.

Emphasizing the importance of skill-based training in technical and vocational fields, the Head of the Organization, Ali Latifi, stated: "The primary goal of these fields is to prepare students for entry into the world of work. The labor market is constantly evolving, influenced by technological advancements and changes in the employment landscape. Consequently, it was necessary to synchronize the textbooks with these transformations."

Ali Latifi added: "Last year, a comprehensive evaluation was conducted on 30 technical and vocational fields to identify the changes occurring in the labor market and technology, and to determine how the textbooks should be adjusted accordingly. The outcome of this review was the printing of 15 new titles and the modification of 55 others, which were distributed in technical schools this year."

The Head of the Educational Research and Planning Organization further noted: "One of the significant changes is the integration of Artificial Intelligence education into all disciplines of the Technical and Vocational branch. In total, 956 textbooks have been printed this year, of which approximately 450 are related to technical, vocational, and technical training fields."
