UNESCO works to meet huge education needs of displaced students in Iraq
Submitted by mohtava on Mon, 11/14/2016 - 15:27After Syria, Iraq has the third largest number of IDPs in the world – 4.4 million (figures from “UNHCR Global Trends 2015”) with the majority of school-aged IDPs lacking access to education. With military operations currently underway in Mosul, it is expected that up to an additional 1 million people could be forcibly displaced due to violence and conflict.
